Who Qualifies To Get A Bursary Or College Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application process.

Applications are actually open and can shut on 15 December 2024.

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should meet the following requirements:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a home by using a combined gross domestic earnings that does not exceed R350 000 per annum.

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent people from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to provide the proper Identification Doc numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored inside their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are researching or intend to research at a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
